Scott Lieber

Chicago native Scott Lieber’s leadership and commitment makes him a “young leader on the rise in our community, both in the Jewish world and at large,” according to Scott’s colleague, Lee Lazar.

Scott was appointed as the JUF Young Leadership Division’s 2013 Campaign Vice Chair. His involvement with the Jewish community started when he was 23 years old - and in four relatively short years, he has dedicated time and resources to BUILD Chicago and the U.S. Holocaust Museum Next Generation group.

“Scott is the type of person everyone wants to know. More importantly, Scott possesses a level of maturity, humility and self-awareness beyond his years that make him unique. He has grown into a leader who can attract and mobilize others for any cause he sets his mind to,” Lazar said.

How do you Jew in Chicago?
By going to YLD events, of course.

Passions:
My hobbies are traveling, golf, fly-fishing and playing softball with friends, but my passion is helping the Chicago community and working hard. I love what I do, and I love meeting people.

How do you give back?
I give back to the community with time and money. The organizations I’m a part of need money to exist and really make a huge impact in our communities. I feel like it’s important to take care of Chicago since it’s given so much to me and to the people I care about.

Fill in the blank: If time and money were limitless, I would:
start my own NFL franchise and live on a ranch in Park City, Utah, skiing, golfing and fly-fishing.

Chicago's Jewish community in 10 years:
Will be the tightest Jewish community in the country. Other cities will want to duplicate what we are and what we are able to do in Chicago. Not only from a size standpoint, but monetarily and through our engaging programs.

Me in 10 years:
I’ll have a family and will be living somewhere in Chicago or around the city. I will continue my philanthropic activities and most likely will still be working for Associated.
