Before the baseball season was officially underway, we marveled over Team Israel in the World Baseball Classic. But as those games came to a close and we long for 2021 when Israel has another shot; we wonder where our beloved players are spending the season. Here is a progress report on some of the key contributors to Team Israel's WBC run.

Corey Baker - Baker is pitching for the Springfield Cardinals (AA). He has appeared in five games with a 0-1 record and a 2.08 ERA.

Zach Borenstein - Borenstein is playing left field for the Reno Aces, the AAA affiliate of the Arizona Diamondbacks. He has begun the season batting .227 with 7 RBI and 3 home runs.

Craig Breslow - Breslow only played in the qualifying round because he was called up by the Minnesota Twins. He is currently on the roster.

Scott Burcham - Burcham, who wowed us with his glove, is playing for the Lancaster Jethawks (A affiliate of the Colorado Rockies). In 11 games he is batting .289.

Ike Davis - Davis is with the Los Angeles Dodgers AAA team and is 1-for-8 in the early season.

Cody Decker - Decker was cut by the Brewers but quickly caught on with the Binghamton Rumble Ponies (AAA affiliate of the New York Mets). He is batting .286 with a home run and 6 RBI.

Nate Freiman - Freiman caught on in the Independent League with the Long Island Ducks.

Sam Fuld - Currently a free agent searching for a home. Good chance a Major League team will need a replacement outfielder mid-season.

Blake Gailen - Gailen is also in the Independent League with the Lancaster Barnstormers (Atlantic League). He is hitless in the early going.

Brad Goldberg - Goldberg, who rejoined the team in Japan, is currently pitching in AAA for the Chicago White Sox. He is 0-1 in give games with a 2.35 ERA.

Alex Katz - Katz is also in the White Sox system with the Kannapolis Intimidators. In five games he is 0-1.

Ty Kelly - Kelly has bounced around a bit. He was in the big leagues with the Mets, then traded to the Toronto Blue Jays, and then quickly traded to the Philadelphia Phillies. He is currently on the Major League roster.

Dean Kremer - Israel's first MLB draftee is with the Rancho Cucamonga Quakes (Dodgers A-Advanced affiliate). In three games he is 1-0 with a 4.35 ERA.
